“In general, I feel that the school is excellent. It is a shame that the teachers must spend so much time teaching for the standardized testing that New York State requires, because it stiffles the teachers' creativity and the students may miss out on that small window of opportunity to be inspired and/or motivated. The principal is not a huge people person, but is effective and fair when dealing with student-student, parent-teacher, and student-teacher conflicts. Chorus, Orchestra, and Band are offered and the music and art departments throughout the Sayville School District are excellent. Gym classes have some homework activities, such as activity journals.”
